About The Foothill Catalog Foundation -

The Foothill Catalog Foundation (TFCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by an interdisciplinary group of local residents and design professionals united by a shared commitment to help our community rebuild.

TFCF was born in the immediate aftermath of the January 7, 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. That evening, North-West Pasadena–based architects Alex and Cynthia were evacuated from their home as the Eaton Fire overtook the San Gabriel Mountains just beyond their kitchen window. Although their home ultimately survived by a single block, the scale of devastation made one thing clear: rebuilding would require a more coordinated, accessible, and efficient approach to protect both the people and the architectural heritage of the foothill communities.

The Foothill Catalog Foundation was incorporated as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation on January 15th, 2025 - just one week after the fire - with a mission to remove barriers to rebuilding and ensure that recovery is equitable, thoughtful, and community-driven.

Since it’s inception, TFCF’s community has grown into a collaborative network of professionals and neighbors working side-by-side to ensure no family is left behind. Today, TFCF’s team includes design professionals and staff who advance homes through the pre-approval permitting process, coordinate with builders, and engage directly with homeowners - supporting families from design through builder selection.
