REBUILD ROADMAP

A step-by-step guide to rebuilding your home with the Foothill Catalog

Most homeowners move from consultation to construction start in 2–3 months. This timeline is made possible by using pre-approved plans that streamline permitting and reduce design time.

PHASE 1: Find the perfect plan (1-4 weeks)

Step 1: Connect with us

Timeline: 5 minutes

To get started, fill out a short Consultation Request on our website. This helps our team understand your property and your rebuild goals so we can tailor our guidance to your situation.

Once you complete the questionnaire, we’ll send you a Calendly invite link to set up a meeting.

Step 2: Meet our team for a consultation

Timeline: 1 hour

During your consultation, we’ll walk you through how the Catalog works, learn about your property and goals, and review which plans may fit your site.

Together, we’ll outline your rebuild timeline, next steps, and what to expect moving forward so you leave with a clear path.

Step 3: Confirm you’re ready to move forward

Timeline: 2-4 weeks

Coming out of the consultation, we’ll help you identify your specific rebuild needs and whether you’re ready to move forward with a Catalog design.

When you’re ready, the next step is to complete an Intent to Proceed. By signing and paying a deposit, you will be able to use a Catalog design to source bids from builders.

(For most homeowners we work with, this step takes about 2-4 weeks.)

PHASE 2: Get ready to build (4-8 weeks)

Step 4: Bidding & Contractor Selection

Timeline: 2-4 weeks

Next, we’ll help you narrow down a list of potential contractors and work with you to ensure a competitive bidding process.

You’ll meet with one or more contractors bidding on your project, review bids, and select the contractor that best fits your project and priorities.

Step 5: Design Licensing

Timeline: 1 meeting

Once you’ve selected a contractor, we will issue a license for your selected Catalog plan so your project can move forward.

Our licensing fee covers the use of the pre-approved design for your specific property. This approach is what allows for faster permitting, clearer pricing, and a more predictable build process.

Licensing fees support the designers behind the Catalog and the infrastructure required to make these homes available. We are actively working to offset or waive these fees for homeowners who are severely underinsured or uninsured.

Step 6: Site Plan and Pre-Construction

Timeline: 4-6 weeks

You’ll finalize your interior and exterior selections, including finishes, fixtures, and flooring, along with any additional site work such as landscaping or hardscape.

Your builder will create a property specific submittal set to obtain your construction permits. Once your permits are issued your contractor is ready to begin construction.

PHASE 3: Rediscover home (8-12 months)

Step 7: Construction

Timeline: 8-12 months

Your home is built using the pre-approved design you selected from the Foothill Catalog and any additional elements you agree on with your builder.

Step 8: Move In

Once construction is complete and final inspections are passed, you will receive your Certificate of Occupancy.
