Featuring the Altadena African American Historic Resources Survey conducted by the County of Los Angeles, this event aims to shed light on the invaluable role of African Americans in shaping the town's past and present.

Join us on Friday, March 28th at the recently reopened Altadena Main Library for a talk by local historian Michele Zack, author of Altadena: Between Wilderness and City. Michele will provide insights into this area’s specific sense of place and identity. This is the first in a series of lectures designed to inform and advance the process of Altadena’s recovery and rebuild after the devastating Eaton fire of January 7-8, 2025.

The team will explain the process, what will be needed from contributing designers/architects, next steps, and answer any questions you may have.
