Grant Announcement: Altadena Builds Back Foundation

A message from our Executive Director —

With the support of the Ballmer Group, the Altadena Builds Back Foundation (ABBF) has taken another important step in advancing long-term rebuilding efforts in Altadena - and we are honored to be part of that work.

We’re happy to announce that The Foothill Catalog Foundation has received a $500,000 grant from the Altadena Builds Back Foundation to help Eaton Fire survivors rebuild their homes and return to their community. This generous investment will help Eaton Fire survivors streamline their rebuild process and ensure that under-resourced families are able to return to, and remain in, the communities they call home.

ABBF’s grant enables Foothill Catalog to expand access to our preapproved home designs, which can reduce pre-construction costs by up to 95% and significantly shortens the rebuilding timelines. These designs not only help families move forward more quickly, but also play an important role in preserving Altadena’s architectural identity and cultural heritage as the community rebuilds.

This investment also strengthens our capacity as an organization. Rebuilding after a disaster is a long and complex journey, and this grant allows us to deepen our support, improve our systems, and better serve families navigating recovery, now and in the years ahead.

We know the road to rebuilding and recovery continues, and there is still much work to be done. ABBF was created to lead and support the long-term recovery of Altadena, and we are deeply grateful for their leadership, partnership, and belief in solutions that streamline the rebuilding process and bring families home faster.

We are proud to stand alongside ABBF and the Ballmer Group in this effort, and we remain committed to helping families rebuild with dignity, affordability, and a lasting sense of belonging.
